Prowess has assembled a small team of close advisors that counsel Prowess management on all facets of business strategy, operations, and administration. Through complementary experience and expertise, the Prowess Advisory Board helps to shape and direct the business. The track record of the individuals on the Advisory Board, as well as the success of Prowess as an organization, are indicators of the sound advice and direction provided by the Board, the functional relationships between the Board members and Prowess management, and the ability of Prowess as an organization to respond to and implement Board recommendations.
Throughout his career, Wynton Dunford has leveraged technology in innovative ways. Wynton co-founded ELF Technologies, based in Seattle, Washington, and while serving as the CEO and Chairman of the Board, he helped to implement electronic connectivity between the insurance and legal industries. During his tenure, ELF also developed a system that enabled the Dow Chemical Company to successfully defend itself from over 30,000 breast implant suits worldwide.
Wynton also founded and served as CEO of Medirec, a company headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah. Medirec’s mission was to that made critical care equipment available to medical institutions on a pay-only-when-used basis. With 400 employees working in 40 offices, Medirec served some 3,800 hospitals in the United States. When the company was sold, it had reached a sales volume of $60 million dollars. Medirec’s marketing paradigm is still in use today. Prior to Medirec, Wynton was the co-founder and chairman of NPO Therapies, a business that put medical equipment in the hands of those who needed it most.
Wynton holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Utah, and a Master of Business Administration from the Harvard Graduate School of Business.
Tom Lund is currently Vice President with Zions Bank, where he oversees initiatives in venture capital and emerging growth. In this role, Tom interacts with prominent members of the venture community in Utah, developing client relationships with a broad spectrum of high-growth companies that are seeking additional capital.
Previously, Tom served for seven years as the Director of Business Development for Ernst & Young, where he played a crucial role in the dynamic growth of the firm’s Salt Lake City office. Before joining Ernst & Young, Tom was a sales manager for Associated Business Products, a start-up office equipment dealer that was later acquired by Ikon Office Solutions, a Fortune 500 company.
Tom holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, with honors, from Southern Utah University.
Mr. Siegel is a Managing Director in Houlihan Lokey’s Atlanta office, where he is a member of the firm’s Financial Advisory Services business. He has nearly two decades of experience providing transaction advisory services in all stages of the transaction lifecycle, including buyside and sellside due diligence, negotiation support, valuation analysis, structuring and purchase price adjustments. He has consulted with multinational corporate and private equity clients concerning the U.S. tax and transaction ramifications of mergers, acquisitions, dispositions and other strategic matters.
Mr. Siegel has developed and reviewed worldwide tax planning strategies for large U.S. and foreign multinationals. He has written numerous articles on international structuring and investment and has been published in Tax Notes International, Journal of International Taxation, International Business, Global Finance and International Tax News. He is also a frequent speaker at various conferences.
Before joining Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Siegel served as a partner in Ernst & Young’s transaction advisory services group and led its Southeast region transaction tax services practice.
Mr. Siegel is a graduate of the University of Georgia School of Law and the Terry School of Business. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the American Bar Association (Section of Taxation), the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is registered with FINRA as a General Securities Representative (Series 7 and 63).
